Job Description
What You’ll Do:
Reporting to the Manager, Commercial Insurance, you’ll be responsible for:
1. Business Development
- Lead Generation & Sales: Identify potential clients, generate leads, and convert them into long-term business relationships.
- Market Research: Analyze industry trends, competition, and customer needs to develop strategic growth initiatives.
- Strategic Partnerships: Develop and manage partnerships that enhance the company’s reach and revenue. Participate in events to create brand awareness and developing, maintaining, and cultivating community contacts to enhance Orbit’s visibility and maximize new business opportunities.
- Proposal & Negotiation: Prepare business proposals, pitch services/products, and negotiation to secure deals.
- Revenue Growth: Achieve and exceed sales targets by identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities.
- Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, product, and operations teams to ensure alignment with business goals.
- Reporting: Track sales performance, analyze key metrics, and present reports to senior management.
2. Client Relationship Management (Portfolio Management)
- Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts and respond to client questions, concerns, or complaints. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and clients.
- Handle client renewals by informing them of key changes, modifications, or terminations to guide and support their decision making.
- Negotiate the terms and conditions of new policies, renewals, and modifications with insurance carriers.
- Assist in preparing insurance submissions, proposals, and summaries of insurance
- Identify upselling or cross-selling opportunities.
- Claims Assistance by gathering the main details of the claim, assisting with reporting and helping the client through next steps in the claims process.
3. Performs other duties and competencies as assigned.
Qualifications
Let’s Talk About You:
This is the unique blend of skills and experience we would love to see in an ideal candidate:
- Hold a commercial property and casualty insurance broker's license (RIBO, AMF)
- 3 or more years working in commercial insurance with SME (Small & Medium) solutions.
- Attention to detail: adherence to maintaining an up to date and detailed client file
- Strong networking, communication, negotiation skills
- Ability to analyze data, market trends, and business strategies
- Self-motivated, results and service oriented, and capable of working independently
- Proficiency in BMS software (EPIC) and MS Office Suite
- The ability to communicate in French is considered an asset.
